2006 Cup Preview http://www.planetrugby.com/Teams/USA/story_51014.shtml

Week 8 – The Maggots look strong heading into the cup as do Bozeman and Billings.  It looks to be a 3-horse race, but Flathead can be tough at home.  Billings trounced a 14-man Moose squad 56-0 to claim a # 3 Seed for the tournament.  Bozeman was equally impressive taking care of business over Butte 51-0 to hold onto the # 1 Seed.  The Maggots shattered the Jesters in the 3rd game of the weekend 74-3 and are the # 2 Seed.   Flathead claims a #4 Seed, their highest in recent years and Spokane is #5.  Helena is the #6 seed.  **Butte and Jesters are not fielding sides at State per the discussion at the Union Meeting.  Times will follow by Tues. morning for 1st round games, the semi-finals and the plate final game.  The Maggots are the only team with a legitimate B-side and hope to get a Motley game for fun on Saturday.  Jesters and Butte are coming to whore for the other six teams who should all travel strong.

Week 7 – Maggot Fest was a blast as the MRU teams took a week off from competition.  Bozeman looked good against Wisconsin, The Jesters beat Jackson Hole, and Butte beat a tough EWU team for some of the memorable highlights.  The Maggots won 3 games over a 4-day period and Helena looked strong getting some veterans back in the mix before State.  Flathead put up a decent effort vs. the Regina team and we all know how good they were.  This week:  Crucial match-up in Billings as the Moose look to upset the Bulls and move up a notch.  Maggots host the Jesters and Bozeman heads west to take on a more than adequate Butte team.  Good luck!

Select Side  -  vs.  The Vigilante Select-Side will be playing in a new home/away fixture w/ the Saskatchewan Prairie Fire in Regina on either on 6/3.  We will host them in Billings in ’07.  This is a real chance for us to showcase our Unions talent against one of Canada’s best sides.  Cost to participate will be 75$ to cover Vans and gas. We need 40 players for two matches.  The accommodations are being supplied by the Regina Rugby Union.  Lets play hard this spring and earn a spot on the Vigilantes!  Selectors will be watching.  Talk to Bill the Bull if you are interested in participating and would like to be considered.
